This team is part of the Group Communications and Corporate Affairs division, which devises, plans, and implements Erste Group's public positioning and communications. Corporate Communications is evolving from its previous newsroom structure into four specialized departments, each responsible for developing communication plans and strategies within their area of expertise.
As Communications Manager Financial News and Strategy Communications, you will design and drive a comprehensive 360° communications strategy for all group-level financial and strategic topics across internal, external, and social media channels. You will work closely with Investor Relations, the strategy teams, and fellow department heads while maintaining strong relationships with communications teams across Erste Group's headquarters and international locations in Central and Eastern Europe.
Your Tasks
- Financial News and Strategy Communications
Lead the planning and execution of internal and media communications related to financial results, AGMs, as well as financial and capital market topics (excluding IR communications). Ensure proactive narrative development for press conferences and internal communications around financial results and strategy updates. Coordinate group-wide communication on sensitive topics while ensuring messaging is consistent, credible, and aligned with Erste Group values and compliance standards. - Integrated Communications Strategy & Channel Management
Develop and implement a comprehensive 360° communications strategy that ensures consistent, effective messaging across all channels and content formats. Take ownership of one or more communication channels as editor on duty (rotating among department heads) and coordinate cross-departmental channel strategies, integrating innovation and best practices. Leverage social listening and performance analytics to monitor sentiment, identify emerging trends, and continuously optimize communication effectiveness across all channels. - Executive Advisory & Communications Planning
Advise C-suite executives on communication strategy and positioning. Prepare comprehensive communication plans, messaging frameworks, and executive briefings. - Stakeholder & Media Engagement
Act as the senior point of contact for financial media. Partner with Investor Relations and strategy teams to align narratives across audiences. - Team & Change Leadership
Inspire and guide a team of approximately 7-9 communications experts through transformation, fostering a strategic, consultative mindset. Promote cross-functional collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation within the team.
Your Background
- Extensive experience in corporate communications, covering media relations, internal communications, and social media, with the ability to design and execute integrated communication plans and supporting materials.
- Proven experience in financial communications and a strong understanding of bank financials, markets, including M&A and integration processes.
- Well-established media network across international and Austrian leading financial media.
- Expertise in crisis communications.
- Skilled in advising and collaborating with C-suite executives on strategic communication matters.
- Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to translate complex financial topics into clear narratives.
- Proficiency in modern communication platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365) and AI-powered tools (e.g., ChatGPT).
- Strategic thinker with strong planning and execution skills.
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Fluency in German and English; CEE language skills are an advantage.

- The minimum wage for this full-time position in accordance with the collective agreement with complete fulfillment of the functional profile is EUR 55.176,-- gross per year. But this is just a formality - we would be happy to talk about your actual salary in person!
