Degree Program Director for
„Green Transition Engineering“ (m/f/d)
We are looking for an academically qualified and committed individual to lead our forward-looking „Green Transition Engineering“ degree program, to further refine its profile and to play an active role in shaping its development at the interface of sustainability, technology and innovation. The Bachelor’s program was successfully launched in 2024. The first graduates will complete their studies in the coming academic year. Through research-led teaching, the program is closely linked to the ICEB (Interdisciplinary Center for Ecosystem Services and Biodiversity) research center.
Your tasks
- Coordination, organization and planning of teaching and research activities
- Responsibility for ensuring compliance with processes & procedures within the program and the organization
- Further development of the bachelor degree program
- Teaching of equivalent to 10 hours per week
- Marketing of the bachelor degree program
- Responsibility for advising, selecting and admitting students
- Involvement in staff recruitment and management responsibilities for assigned staff
- Participation in interdisciplinary activities, as well as involvement in internal and external projects and on committees/boards
- Setting up, defining and leading of research projects together with various industrial and scientific partners
- Establishment of partnerships with companies and other research institutions
- Development, application for and implementation of research projects, as well as active involvement in the ICEB research center
Your strengths & qualifications
- Doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification in Environmental Informatics or a related field
- Several years of professional experience in the relevant field
- Experience in a leadership role
- Didactical skills, enthusiasm and experience in university teaching
- Experience in acquisition and management of cooperative research & funding projects
- Planning and organizational skills, as well as interpersonal skills, self-management and a high level of commitment
- Ability to establish and further expand research and development within the degree program
- Established network in the relevant scientific community and electronics/semiconductor industry
- Analytical and structured thinking and acting, creativity in solution finding, adaptability and flexibility
- High scientific output and track record (publications, research projects) in the related field
- Language skills in German (minimum level B2, written and spoken)
- Language skills in English (minimum level C1, written and spoken)

| Salary: | According to Austrian law, we are obliged to state the minimum salary, which is EUR 79,000.00 (gross annual salary for full-time employment, 14 monthly payments; including a program director’s allowance). We are willing to offer a higher salary, depending on qualifications and professional experience. |
