Duration of employment: 1st of March 2026, limited to 31st of March 2028

Allocation in compliance with the Collective Agreement for University Staff to job group: B1
Gross monthly salary: (depending on previous eligible experience) at least: € 3.776,10
(payable 14 times per year)
Responsibilities
- Planning and Implementation of (large) scale experiments in the Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory including scientific, experimental and measuring design
- Scientific investigations in the field of sediment transport and river morphology, hydraulic engineering
- Publication of the findings in international scientific journals and presentation at national/international conferences
- Processing and analyzing experimental data
Required skills and qualifications
- Diploma degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Physics or other equivalent university degree
- English: Very good language skills
- Basic knowledge and experience in planning and implementing hydraulic scale models
- Strong desire to conduct hands-on experimental research in a cutting edge research facility (BOKU River Lab)
Desirable skills and qualifications
- Background in environmental- and hydraulic engineering
- Basic knowledge of sediment transport processes and river morphology
- Basic knowledge in measurement and test engineering
- Programming skills and experience in data analysis
- Strong interest to earn a PhD degree
