We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) professional to join the EDI office in our organization in support of our efforts to provide and maintain an inclusive and equitable workplace. In this function, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies that foster diversity, promote equality, and cultivate a culture of inclusivity.
- Proactively developing strategies and implementing initiatives and projects for EDI in collaboration with your EDI colleague and Head of HR
- Community building with different stakeholder groups on Campus in regards to EDI topics (e.g. PhD and PostDoc associations, etc.)
- Making recommendations for policies and practices, thereby ensuring that all activities are aligned with ISTA’s values and its EDI principles
- Raising awareness for and providing advice on equal opportunities legislation, in particular in relation to recruitment, promotion, and general workplace topics
- Implementing, promoting and evaluating concrete measures towards our goal to foster the ISTA Campus as a diverse and inclusive workplace for all members of the ISTA community (e.g. inclusive language communication etc.)
- Aligning EDI data, regular monitoring and reporting, thereby identifying areas for action and making suggestions for improvement to the Management
- Point of contact for all members of the ISTA community in regard to EDI topics
- Providing training to supervisors and employees on EDI topics and organization and facilitation of EDI events
- Contact person for family services, audit “Work & family”, advice and support for parents (to-be)
Your Profile
- Expertise in equity, diversity, and inclusion with a deep understanding of the importance of creating an inclusive workplace culture
- Academic degree in a relevant field or similar education
- Proven experience in developing and implementing equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies in a corporate or organizational setting
- Experience in STEM/academic field of advantage
- Strong knowledge of equity, diversity, and inclusion legislation, principles, theories, and best practices
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse groups and stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Strong organizational as well as project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- High level of solution orientation and can-do attitude
- Strong facilitation, training, and presentation skills with the ability to engage and inspire audiences
- Exceptional communication skills in English as well as conversational level of German with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
